In the second half of this year, the legal status of digital currencies in Iran will be determined

Mohammad Reza Poorabrahimi, the head of the parliament’s economic commission, referring to the investigation of cryptocurrencies in the economic commission, said that the parliament seeks to legalize the position of digital currencies in the country.

Due to their importance, the issue of cryptocurrencies was reviewed and prepared in the Economic Commission last year, and its report was read in public in accordance with the principle of Article 45 of the Rules of Procedure.

The representative of the people of Kerman added:

In the parliament, we are seeking to legalize the status of cryptocurrencies in the country, so that the duties of the ministries and agencies can be assigned in this regard.

He continued:

Central Bank as a decision in the field of cryptocurrencies; The Ministry of Economy should be involved in the fight against money laundering and the Ministry of Silence should be involved in the licensing of Ramzarz farms, as well as the Ministry of Energy in providing the required electricity and the Ministry of Communications in the field of its virtual platform.

Poorabrahimi stated:

The basic materials and provisions of the codes are specified in the Economic Commission. In the section on legal provisions, the internal source must be formed within the framework of legal regulations and those who have illegal electricity consumption must be dealt with.

The head of the economic commission of the parliament also said about foreign cryptocurrencies:

The framework of foreign cryptocurrencies has also been identified due to public concern about the country’s entry sources and its high risks.

Poorabrahimi added:

Also, the responsibility of exchange offices, cryptocurrencies and digital currencies in these initial provisions will be determined in the Central Bank and the necessary licenses have been defined and the report of the Economic Commission in this regard will be finalized soon and we will make it public.
