Mohammad Rezapour Ebrahimi, head of the parliament’s economic commission, said that we had separated the issue of combating violations in the field of cryptocurrencies from the law on smuggling goods and currency, so that we could include all the required provisions in a comprehensive law.
According to Arzdigital, Mohammad Reza Poorabrahimi in an interview with a parliamentary reporter Market, Referring to the formulation of legal provisions in the field of violations in the field of cryptocurrency in the parliament said:
In the previous text of the Law on Combating Commodity and Currency Smuggling, which was approved by the Commission, the Guardian Council objected to the issue of currency encryption in this law.
He stated that the field of currency cryptocurrency is considered as a new phenomenon in the economic system, he said:
Therefore, we tried to examine the issues related to the field of currency encryption separately, as the inclusion of these issues in the law on smuggling of goods and currency may create problems in the definitions, content and procedures.
The MP continued:
Due to the initial objection of the Guardian Council, as well as the investigations carried out in the commission, it was decided to separate this issue from the law on smuggling of goods and currency.
Pour-Ebrahimi stated that the report of Article 45 of the Economic Commission on the cryptocurrency and the initial plan in this regard is on the agenda of the public.
Therefore, as soon as we have a partial provision in the law on combating smuggling of goods and currency in the field of cryptocurrencies, God willing, soon after reading the report of the Economic Commission following Article 45 on cryptocurrencies, we will determine the content of legal provisions in different sections.
He stated that in this plan, tasks will be assigned to the anti-money laundering complex of the Ministry of Economy and the Central Bank in relation to the exchange offices that operate in the field of currency cryptography, he said:
The plan also includes tasks for the Ministry of Energy regarding the supply of currency cryptocurrencies and tasks for the Ministry of Silence regarding the issuance of licenses to operate in the field of currency cryptocurrencies.
He stated that we will consider all the cases leading to the activity of cryptocurrencies in a separate plan:
At the same time, we hope to have a ruling on how to combat cases and violations in the field of currency cryptocurrencies that are affected by the law on smuggling of goods and currency.
For this reason, we have separated the issue of combating violations in the field of currency cryptocurrency from the law on smuggling of goods and currency. Let’s see the rejection of the law separately.
