Chairman of the Economic Commission of the Majles: We are pursuing the regulation of cryptocurrencies


Mohammad Reza Poorabrahimi, head of the Economic Commission of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, referring to the process of legislating digital currencies in the country, said that the Assembly seeks to have its own framework and laws for the activities of cryptocurrencies in the country.

According to Arzdigital, Mohammad Reza Poorabrahimi in Conversation Referring to the report of the Economic Commission on cryptocurrencies, he said:

The initial report of the Economic Commission of the Parliament on cryptocurrencies has been prepared in the form of Article 45 of the Parliament’s Rules of Procedure.

He added:

This report is scheduled to be read in the open court of the parliament soon.

The head of the Economic Commission of the Islamic Consultative Assembly emphasized:

Following this report, decisions have been made about the activity of cryptocurrencies in the country, which are a kind of legal provisions in line with the activity of cryptocurrencies, and have specified the duties of the Ministries of Energy and Silence in this regard.

This member of parliament stated:

In the form of these decisions, we seek that the activity of cryptocurrencies in the country has its own framework and laws.

Poorabrahimi emphasized:

For example, the Ministry of Economy must monitor in such a way that money laundering does not take place in the form of this activity, or the Ministry of Oil is obliged to provide power to the power plants in such a way that the power plants produce electricity.

The head of the Economic Commission of the Islamic Consultative Assembly stated:

The goal of the Economic Commission is to form an economic activity in the country and to use the energy capacity in the country, and all these things can have a positive effect on the country’s economy, but in a way that these activities are regulated.
